A funeral will be held for helicopter pilot Morgan Saxton at Wanaka airport on Wednesday.
His body was recovered from Lake Wanaka last week, along with the wreckage of his helicopter.
He had gone missing on the evening of 1 November while flying from Haast to Wanaka airport.
Mr Saxton, 31, and his father had been released from prison on bail in June, pending an appeal against their convictions for stealing Ngai Tahu greenstone.
