A boy is in Waikato Hospital with serious burns after falling from a motorbike in Kawerau last night.
The 13-year-old was burnt on his hands and legs.
He was flown to hospital by the Tauranga-based TrustPower TECT Rescue Helicopter about 9pm.
The rescue service said fuel was spilled over the boy when he fell off the motorbike, but it was not known if there was a fire or if the injuries were chemical burns.
The boy is in a stable condition.
