A new report has shown greenhouse gas emissions are increasing, but grew more slowly than the economy in general.

The report released by Stats NZ this morning, is the first of its kind to measure the country's natural assets and the relationship with the economy.

Primary industries accounted for 57.1 percent of carbon dioxide emissions in 2015, compared to the lowest group households which accounted for 6.9 percent.

New Zealand accounts for around 0.17 percent of the worlds greenhouse gas emissions.
