A 42-year-old man arrested in relation to a death in Hastings yesterday has appeared in court this morning.

The man, who has interim name suppression, is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to a 30-year-old man.
The 30-year-old died outside a property on Lumsden Road in the suburb of Akina, in the early hours of Friday morning.
The defendant, who lives locally, will reappear in Hastings District Court next month.
