Police are searching for the driver of a ute believed to have struck and seriously injured a cyclist in Cromwell this morning.

The crash happened near the intersection of Shortcut and Partridge roads about 7.45am.
Police said the ute left the scene immediately, and had not spoken to officers.
The ute was described as metallic blue with a double cab, a bull bar and off-road tyres.
Anyone with information to help locate the vehicle is urged to call police on 105.
