Five New Zealand permanent residents have escaped Gaza through the Rafah crossing overnight.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters shared the development on X (formerly Twitter).
Last month at least 11 New Zealanders and three permanent residents made it out of Gaza.
Israeli forces bombed wide areas of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, civilians in the besieged territory seeking shelter in an ever-shrinking area of the south.
MFAT says only one Kiwi has been approved to leave Gaza, and there are 20 others who officials are trying to get out.
Israel has carried out intense air strikes on Khan Younis in southern Gaza, with residents describing it as the heaviest bombing of the war.
"We focus 100 percent on the conflict," says a New Zealander working for the United Nations in Gaza, where more aid is desperately needed.
