Food manufacturer Kiwigarden is recalling a batch of dairy-free yoghurt drops due to traces of milk being found.
The traces of casein, a protein found in milk, were present in the Dairy Free Coconut Yogurt Drops.
They are sold in a box containing 10 of 5g individual packets.
Kiwigarden general manager Johnny Wiggins said the company was taking an extremely cautious approach.
"We are acting swiftly to address the issue and make sure it does not happen again," Wiggins said.
"We have taken advice from Ministry of Primary Industries, and while we believe the risk of harm is extremely low, we are erring on the side of caution and initiating a voluntary recall of this one batch of our Kiwigarden 50g Coconut Vanilla Dairy Free Yoghurt Drops.
"The presence of milk and casein is extremely small, but this is a product for babies and toddlers, so it's important that we do the right thing."
The affected batch number is 6237111 and there are 1512 of the 50g packets.
It is sold at Boric Food Mark, in Auckland; New World, Pak'nSave, Four Square, Gilmours, Trents and Freshchoice stores nationwide.
Consumers can return any of the affected batch for a full refund to their nearest stockist.
"We have received no consumer complaints and are not aware of any adverse health effects arising from this product," Wiggins said.
Kiwigarden said none of its other products, including other batches, have been affected and they remained safe to consume.
