Petrol prices drop further

The country's four major petrol retailers have dropped the price of fuel for the second time in a week.

The companies have have reduced petrol and diesel prices by 3 cents a litre, selling 91 octane at $2.129 a litre.

Energy consultant Ian Twomey, says the price for refined oil has fallen but prices for crude oil keep fluctuating, so it is hard to say whether petrol will get any cheaper.

The companies cut fuel prices by 6 cents a litre on 9 May.
