Fiji's Bainimarama visits flood-stricken areas

Fiji's interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has visited the flood hit areas of the country's west.

Six people died as a result of heavy flooding in parts of the Western Division, including a family of four, which was buried under a landslide near the town of Ba.

The Fiji Times reports that emergency services continue to be on full alert to support the affected areas and the government is closely monitoring the weather situation.

Commodore Bainimarama extended sympathy to those whose effected by the flooding.
