A man accused of stabbing his former wife to death and attempting to murder his ex-wife's daughter and her partner has appeared at the High Court in Auckland.

Brent Donavan Scott charged with murdering Heidi Welman-Scott, who was 41, and attempting to murder Taryn Scott and her partner Matija Miletic, both 22.
He has denied the charges.
The accused man appeared briefly before Justice Moore who set the trial date for February next year.
