Capital and Coast Health nurse and therapist Dion Howard said the Five Giant Rabbits mural by street artist duo BMD at the community mental health clinic for children and young people was the latest to be attacked with graffiti.

BMD has created about 30 large-scale pieces in Wellington, including the Sharkwall artworks on the wall opposite Te Papa.

Mr Howard coordinated the Five Giant Rabbits project and said the person who attacked that mural over New Year left the signature FKB.

Work by the duo on display at the Museum Art Hotel and production shed were hit by a tagger who left the same signature last year.

"It's an identifier, the point of leaving the signature is to let other people know who it is," he said.

Police have not yet responded to calls by RNZ News on the matter.
