Fewer areas under TB movement restrictions

The Animal Health Board says it has reduced the areas covered by herd movement restrictions after a further fall in the number of cattle and deer herds infected with bovine tuberculosis.

It says that also means fewer farmers will have to test their animals before moving or selling them.

Technical manager Paul Livingstone says there are currently fewer than 120 Tb-infected herds in the country. That is a 17% drop on a year ago.
