New Zealand eleven beat English selection

A New Zealand eleven has beaten a selection of English cricketers by three wickets in their second Twenty 20 encounter in Whangarei.

Set 171 runs for victory, the New Zealanders reached the target off the final ball.

The New Zealand openers Hamish Rutherford and Anton Devcich got the run chase off to a strong start hitting 30 and 33 runs respectively.

The number three batsmen, Canterbury's Tom Latham, top scored with 64 runs off 38 balls.

The English captain Stuart Broad was the best of his team's bowlers taking 3 wickets for 24 runs off 4 overs.

Earlier Jos Butler and Eion Morgan were the joint top scorers for the tourists with 51.

The New Zealand captain Andy Ellis took 2 wickets with his four overs for 27 runs.

The Black Caps test bowlers Neil Wagner and Doug Bracewell were brought into the side for today's game.

Wagner took 2 wickets for 38 runs off four overs, while Bracewell was none for 39.
