The Junior Black Sticks women have won their five-game hockey series against Korea's under-21 women.

Saturday's 2-2 draw at North Harbour Hockey Stadium was enough to clinch the series for the Junior Black Sticks who finished with two wins, two draws and one loss.

The hosts were first to score in game five with Canterbury's Olivia Merry delivering the opening blow.

Sophie Cocks scored the Junior Black Sticks' second goal but Korea twice came from behind to hold on for the draw.

Head coach Chris Leslie is pleased with his side's performance throughout the series, which was used as a warm-up opportunity ahead of the Women's Junior World Cup in Germany in July.

The final Junior Black Sticks women's team of 18 players for the Junior World Cup will be announced this coming week.
