Pregnancy causes NZ golfer a few problems on one round

The expectant New Zealand golf professional Liz McKinnon said before teeing off in the inaugural NZ womens open she wouldn't be holding back over the next three days at Clearwater in Christchurch.

The 30-year-old Aucklander is five and a half months pregnant and she's looking forward to cooler temperatures in Christchurch after sweltering 40 plus temperatures during last week's New South Wales Open blowing out her middle round to a five over par 77.

McKinnon says she had to get her doctor to check her out due to the heat but she's not expecting any problems with her condition in Christchurch.

She's had to pull out of the European Tour later this year as it starts about the time she's due.
