Troicki to appeal ban

The Serbian tennis player Viktor Troicki will appeal to the Court of Arbitration against his 18-month ban for refusing to provide a blood sample at this year's Monte Carlo Masters.

Troicki, who reached the third round at Wimbledon recently, claims he had asked for permission to be excluded from the blood test because he was feeling unwell, but the International Tennis Federation rejected that explanation.

He says he was misled by a doping control officer in Monte Carlo.
