New Zealand well represented at Henley

1:34 pm on 2 July 2009

New Zealand rowing crews will be looking to continue their good form when they take part in the Royal Henley regatta starting tonight on the Thames near London.

New Zealand won 7 medals at the lastest World Cup regatta last month, including 4 gold and are in Europe prepering for this year's World Championships in Poland in August.

Team manager Jan Taylor says taking part in the Henley event, which is one of the big 3 British regattas, is an opportunity they couldn't resist.

She says Rowing New Zealand felt it would be worth trying in a post-Olympic year and should help in their World Championship preperations.

Single scullers Mahe Drysdale and Duncan Grant compete tonight along with the men's pair in one-off races... the rest compete over the weekend.

The next round of the World Cup series is in Lucerne next weekend.
