A further 1600 pitchside seats are to be added to Wellington's Westpac stadium for the All White world cup qualifier in November.
It will take the number of seats in the stadium to 36,100.
The All Whites will play the fourth-placed team in the CONCACAF Qualifying group in a home and away playoff.
Honduras currently are in fourth place, only one point ahead of Panama and one point behind Mexico, with each team still to play four games.
