All Blacks coach Steve Hansen is relieved the uncertainty over the future of Ma'a Nonu has almost been resolved.
The midfielder's still without a Super Rugby franchise for next season and had been passed over by all five New Zealand teams, but looks set to be handed a lifeline, with the Blues the frontrunners to secure his services.
Throughout the saga, Nonu's remained the first choice option for the All Blacks and Hansen says he'll be pleased when a deal is done.
The deadline for teams to finalise their Super Rugby squads is October 30.
