Australian football's godfather Frank Lowy has refused to guarantee the new Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou will see out his five-year contract, and he's set the 48-year-old the target of making the team No.1 in Asia.
The billionaire chairman of the Australian Football Federation axed the German coach Holger Osieck earlier this month, and Postecoglou becomes the Socceroos' fifth coach in eight years.
Lowy admitted any expectations about ever winning the World Cup are unrealistic, but with the 2015 Asian Football Championships taking place in Australia, there should be no excuses for not being in contention for the silverware.
