Snickometer to be used for next two cricket Tests

8:23 am on 10 December 2013

A snickometer will be used as a part of the Decision Review System for the remaining two Test between New Zealand and the West Indies.

The ICC has announced that the sound gauge will be used along with the virtual eye and hot spot technology following an initial approach from the teams.

The Real Time Snickometer is not yet approved, but the ICC commenced the process of evaluating it for inclusion following ICC Chief Executives' Committee's meeting in September.

The performance of the RTS during the New Zealand - West Indies series, and the current Ashes series, will form part of that evaluation.
