Watson set to miss out on test if he can't bowl

6:49 am on 20 February 2014

Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke says Shane Watson will not return as a specialist batsman for the second test against South Africa in Port Elizabeth starting this evening.

All-rounder Watson missed Australia's 281-run victory in the first test with a calf problem and the tourists want him to be able to bowl if selected.

Meanwhile Peter Siddle has sent a stern warning to the hosts, the paceman claiming the Australian bowling attack is still searching for the perfect performance, including Mitchell Johnson, who claimed a career-best 12 wickets in the first test.
