Injured Charles Piutau to miss England series

The All Blacks will be missing the Blues back Charles Piutau for the June internationals against England.

The fullback limped off the field in the first half of the Blues' 32-20 loss to the Chiefs in New Plymouth on Friday night, and Blues doctor Stephen Kara has confirmed Piutau has suffered a grade two medial ligament strain to his right knee.

The 10-Test All Black is currently in a brace and on crutches and is expected to be out of action for between six to eight weeks.

The first Test against England is in four weeks at Eden Park. Piutau would have been pushing the incumbent Israel Dagg for the fullback's jersey, although he's been playing mainly on the wing for the All Blacks.
