Rory McIlroy's British Open Championship win has taken the 25-year-old six places up the world golf rankings to number two behind Adam Scott, who retains top spot after tieing for fifth at Royal Liverpool.

McIlroy now needs only a win at the Masters to complete his set of golf's four major championships.
Spaniard Sergio Garcia improve four places to number after his fourth runner-up placing in a major championship, and Tiger Woods slipped another couple of places to number 9.
The last major of the season is the US PGA Championship at the Vallhalla club in Kentucky early next month.
