Vatuvei is contracted with the Warriors through to the end of the 2018/19 season, however according to British newspaper The Guardian, Vatuvei is set to join the Salford Red Devils next year.

The 31-year-old has played 14 seasons for the Warriors and has scored 152 tries over 226 games since making his debut in 2004.

However the winger has struggled for game time in the NRL's first grade over the past two seasons due to injury and form.

Vatuvei has made just one appearance for the Warriors this year due to a knee injury and has spent the remainder of his season in the reserve grade.

A Warriors spokesperson told Radio New Zealand that they were aware Vatuvei was weighing up his options for the future and were unwilling to comment on whether he had signed a contract with Salford.

An announcement on the deal between Vatuvei and Salford is due in the coming days.
