Land Information Minister Maurice Williamson has assigned official names for three alpine features in Central Otago.
They are Lake Te Kohua, Mount Tuwhakaroria and Tapuae-o-Uenuku or Hector Mountains.
The names were agreed on by Ngai Tahu and the Central Otago District Council before being recommended by the Geographic Board, Mr Williamson says.
