The bus used in the stage version of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has been gifted to Broken Hill in outback New South Wales by director Stephan Elliott.
Almost half the original 1994 movie was filmed there, the ABC reports.
The bus will arrive next week and the council intends to make it a tourist attraction.
The Greyhound vehicle can move on its own, complete 360-turns and pivot on the spot, all the sides open and close, and it can change colour.
