Kidnapped Pakistan troops killed

Pakistan officials say that 21 bodies found in the north west of the country are those of members of a paramilitary force.

They were kidnapped by heavily armed militants earlier in the week.

The BBC reports that around 200 heavily armed militants stormed two government paramilitary camps on Thursday killing two security personnel and kidnapping more than 20 soldiers.

A government official says 21 bullet-ridden bodies have been found in an uninhabited area, only about 4km from one of the camps.

The victims hands had been tied with rope.

The camps are close to Pakistan's tribal areas, a haven for Taliban and Al Qaeda linked militants.

The Taliban said it was responsible for the killings.

It is the third attack on targets around Peshawar this month. Suicide bombers launched a raid on the city's airport two weeks ago, killing four people.
