Two large bushfires continue to burn in Gippsland and north-east Victoria.

The ABC reports the Aberfeldy fire in Gippsland is now 83,000 hectares in size.

Almost 200 firefighters and a number of aircraft are working on containment lines and back-burning around the blaze, which is in remote terrain.

Deputy state fire controller Trevor White said burning embers were blowing east across Black Range.

The Harrietville Alpine blaze has caused spot fires around Kings Spur, near Dargo.
