Seattle girl's glasses deflect bullet

Police in Seattle say a teenage girl has her glasses to thank for saving her from serious injury in a drive-by shooting.

A police spokesman said the 16-year-old girl was asleep on her living room couch when shots were fired from a car as it passed her house.

Several bullets went through the walls and windows, and one bullet was deflected away by the bridge of the her glasses.

She suffered only minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Police believe the house was probably the target of a gang-related shooting, but the girl was not the intended victim.
