Malaysian officials have delayed caning a model caught drinking a beer in public last year.
The ABC reports Katrika Sari Dewi Shukarno, 32, was taken away to be whipped under Islamic law on Monday morning, but was later released.
Officials now say the sentence was postponed because of Ramadan.
Amnesty International and other groups have called for the sentence to be revoked and caning to be abolished.
