A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Java, but Indonesian authorities said there was no tsunami warning nor reports of damage.
The strong quake, which occurred at 11.12pm local time, was centred about 268km south of Yogyakarta, at a depth of 15km, the US Geological Survey says.
A 7.0 magnitude quake which struck off the coast of West Java last Wednesday killed more than 70 people and damaged thousands of homes.
