Adam Page is something of a musical phenomenon.

He's a multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator and record producer based in Adelaide, and seems to know no musical boundaries with collaborations with major figures in the classical and pop worlds.

One of Adam’s instruments is the saxophone, and he chatted with Upbeat ahead of giving the world premiere this Saturday of John Psathas’ saxophone concerto 'Call of the Wild'.

Composer and performer worked together closely in the creation of this work. A long-time collaborator with John, Adam says the concerto is "the perfect culmination of all of our years of conversations and work together, and I hope that we can continue with this concept and this process".

"It's an amazing way to truly write a concerto for somebody. He wrote it for me, and with me as well, but I could never come up with what he's created."
