The Christchurch Boys' Choir is an auditioned choir for treble voices first set up in the 1980s to meet the need for a boys-only choir that wasn't linked to a particular school or church.

Today, over 35 years later, it can claim alumni that includes The King's Singers' Chris Bruerton and leading choral practitioner Andrew Withington.
And then there's the talented trio who became co-Musical Directors of the choir at the beginning of this year.
When the position of Musical Director became vacant, former choristers Bob Gaudin, James Mountstevens and Nic Ryan decided that rather than competing against each other, they'd pool their talents and put in a joint application.
And 'stronger together' paid off.

Upbeat spoke with Bob Gaudin about what it's like to share the direction of the choir with his friends, and what's in store for the audience in the choir's upcoming concert.
