Two hundred ambulances from China have arrived in Fiji with an official handover expected later in the week.

The FBC news reported the 200 specialised medical vehicles arrived on Monday and have been transported to the Police Special Response Unit to await the handover.

Last year Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama said China would assist Fiji with its shortage of specialised equipment, including ambulances and fire trucks.
