Covid-19 lockdown remains for NZ until Aug 24

From Checkpoint, 5:07 pm on 20 August 2021

The Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown is staying in place for all of New Zealand until at least 11:59pm Tuesday.

The outbreak has now grown to 31 community cases and spilled outside the city, with three positive cases confirmed in Wellington.

Nineteen of the cases are linked to the outbreak and health authorities believe the others will be too.

Wastewater testing has also found no unexpected detections of Covid-19 out of Auckland.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the updates are promising but it's too soon to scale back restrictions.
