Professor Nick Wilson says it is problematic that people with Covid-19 are having to wait a long time before being moved into quarantine facilities.
"There should have been more work on getting these transport systems to allow to move these people into facilities, because some people are having a lot of trouble managing at home if their home is crowded.
"And there's ... limited advice on the ministry's website in terms of improving ventilation in the home. The website doesn't even tell people to wear a mask, so the home environment with actually-infected people is really, highly problematic and the ministry should have improved its advice and worked on getting people transported to facilities much more efficiently.
"Given what we've been seeing in Australia over recent months, all our plans should have been state of the art, because we knew the risk of an outbreak happening."
