East AK properties lashed by tornadoes deal with robbers

More than 100 homes were damaged by tornados in just 16 hours over the long weekend, with those in the firing line saying it's lucky no-one lost their life. At least 50 properties were damaged when a twister cut a path of destruction through the east Auckland suburbs of East Tamaki and Golflands on Sunday night, and another did the same in the upper South Island yesterday afternoon. In Auckland, one of the damaged properties was targetted by burglars just after the cyclone hit. Our producer Matthew Theunissen visited the area yesterday.
