Immigrants band together to help fight "dawn raids" actions

A fiery meeting at the weekend has led to the formation of a coalition of communities who say they still feel unfairly targeted by the Immigration department. This follows revelations that Immigration is still using the same controversial tactics of knocking on doors of alleged overstayers at all hours. On Saturday Minister Michael Wood and acting PM Carmel Sepuloni turned up with a team of officials to a meeting of past and present overstayers in Auckland - and presented yet another apology But the chair of the meeting Tongan community leader - Pakilau Manase Lua isn't having a bar of it. He told the ministers and officials that they need to start listening to the communities they're targeting.
