Aucklanders sick of the pandemic and house prices are leaving the big smoke in droves.
According to official figures Auckland had a net loss of 13,500 thousand residents last year and close to 25,000 people in the last two years alone.
However, the super city's loss has been the region's gain, including the West Coast of the South Island.
