Watercare's acting chief executive says easing restrictions in Auckland will be closely monitored - but they may be brought back if the region's drought continues.
From today, businesses can use outdoor hoses with a handheld trigger nozzle and commercial car washes can also operate.
But there is no change to the ban on outdoor hoses for residents.
Marlon Bridge told RNZ reporter, Jean Bell, that easing commercial restrictions is the right thing to do to help businesses after months of lockdowns.
