Biodefence report shows Defence Force priorities changing

From Midday Report, 12:42 pm on 12 October 2020

A new report says the country's Defence Force will be widely involved in New Zealand's security efforts to prevent and mitigate the impacts of biological threats.

Those threats include biological and chemical weapons, pandemics - such as the current Covid-19 outbreak - and the spread of pests and diseases.

The report recognises that risks to the security of Aotearoa and our Pacific neighbours are changing.
