Auckland councillor Efeso Collins, whose family were refused entry into VIP seating at this week's swearing in ceremony, says he's pleased at the council's apology, but he wants the problem fixed properly.

Auckland Council has said sorry for the incident and denounced the conduct of an usher, but Mr Collins says he's been the victim of racism before.
