Visa changes could rob South Otago schools of global flavour

School principals in South Otago are calling the Government's new immigration rules short-sighted, fearful rural communities in the area, which would otherwise have been under threat of decline, would suffer. Under the proposals, children of workers classed as low-skilled would need student visas and the families would have to pay annual fees for international students up to 12 thousand dollars.
