APEC 2018 fails to reach consensus

There's been an unprecedented failure to reach a consensus at the APEC leaders meeting in Port Moresby. For the first time in twenty-five years, they have failed to release a joint communique at the end of their discussions. The meeting exposed deep divisions between the United States and China on trade, and engagement with countries in the Asia Pacific region. RNZ's business editor Gyles Beckford has just returned from the APEC meeting in Papua New Guinea. He talks to Gyles Beckford.
