Important health subjects set to be dropped in final year at Otago University

From Morning Report, 7:17 am on 16 June 2020

Important health subjects are in line to be dropped from the final year of Otago University's medical degree.

The university has proposed no longer making psychological medicine, obstetrics or gynaecology compulsory for students in the sixth year - when they do practical work in the field.

The plans have alarmed many doctors - more than 160 have written to the university to "express their dismay".
