Half the country's universities are reporting a big jump in enrolments from local New Zealanders.
Canterbury, Victoria, Lincoln and Otago universities are all starting the year with more students than they had last year, despite losing hundreds of foreign students because of the pandemic border restrictions.
Grant Guilford from Victoria University told RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen it is enjoying one of its biggest ever increases in New Zealand students.
