Foreign Minister on Ukraine invasion anniversary

From Morning Report, 8:31 am on 24 February 2023

On the first anniversary of its invasion of Ukraine, Russia's ongoing actions continue to threaten global stability and "impact Aotearoa New Zealand", according to Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta.

The country's envoy has also used the anniversary to announce a raft of new sanctions against Russia, including the sanctioning of 87 high-ranking Russian members of Russian president Vladimir Putin's inner circle.

Mahuta says New Zealand's support for Ukraine and opposition to the Russian-led war continues to be "unprecedented" for this country.

She spoke to Guyon Espiner.
