An academic specialising in construction doubts that a high-number of cranes on building sites is a true indication the sector is showing resilience.
The latest crane index from quantity surveyors, Rider Levett Bucknall shows a record 157 long-term cranes on construction sites nationally in March.
Claims that building-inflation has peaked, has also raised the eye-brows of AUT Professor John Tookey.
He says it's just too early to start getting excited.
