Political parties scrap over Three Waters rework

Politicians are at odds over co-governance arrangements planned for the Three Waters rebrand.

The Labour government says some provisions in New Zealand wouldn't stand up to a purely academic, democratic framework, but the treaty grants Māori rights to a say on certain things, such as water.

But the National Party says the government's approach is muddled and concerning, and moves away from a one person, one vote sense of democracy.

Professor Andrew Geddis from Otago University's Faculty of Law spoke to Corin Dann.
